Welcome to my new blog and to this particular page on Human Rights in English. This part of my Arabic blog is devoted to discuss issues of human rights in general. I will, however, emphasize on issues related to human rights in Islam in particular.

Today, Islam as a doctrine, is being accused by being incompatible with international human rights. And further, by violating human rights in general, and women’s rights in particular. Obviously, a view, Muslims round the globe, do not agree with.

I will not “defend” Islam in the following articles; I do not believe there is a need to do so. I will, on the other hand, address a number of issues of controversy in the human rights arena and discuss them in the light of Qur’an and Sunnah. I welcome all your comments and look forward to them.
